Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Bluebird Pyrography. By commissioning an artwork or using this website, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions, which are governed by New Zealand law including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
1. Commissions and Quotes
- All commissions begin with an initial consultation and quote based on the client's provided reference photos and requirements.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- Work will only commence once a concept has been agreed upon and the required deposit or full payment has been received.
2. Working Hours and Timeframes
The estimated hours provided for a project (e.g., "8 - 12 hours" for a Medium Portrait) represent the total active working time required to complete the piece.
Important: Pyrography is a meticulous process. To ensure the highest quality and account for the physical demands of the craft, these active working hours will typically be spread across multiple days or weeks. An estimated completion timeframe will be provided with your quote, taking into account current workload and the specific requirements of your piece.
3. Payment Terms
- Standard Keep Boxes & Small Portraits: Full payment is required before the artwork is released for shipping or collection.
- Extra-Large or Bespoke Commissions: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before work begins. The remaining balance is payable upon completion, prior to the artwork being released.
- Payments can be made via bank transfer (details provided on invoice) or other agreed-upon methods.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
- If a commission is cancelled by the client before work has commenced, any deposit paid will be refunded.
- If a custom commission is cancelled after work has commenced, the 50% deposit is non-refundable to cover materials and time already invested.
- As each piece is custom-made to the client's specifications, returns and refunds are generally not accepted unless the item is faulty or damaged during transit. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
5. Shipping and Delivery
- Shipping is available New Zealand-wide. International shipping may be arranged upon request and will incur additional costs.
- Artwork is carefully packaged to prevent damage. However, if your piece arrives damaged, please contact me immediately with photographs of the packaging and the artwork.
- Bluebird Pyrography is not responsible for delays caused by courier services.
6. Copyright and Usage
- Ciele Everson (Bluebird Pyrography) retains the copyright to all created artworks, including custom commissions.
- Clients may not reproduce, modify, or use the artwork for commercial purposes without explicit written permission.
- Bluebird Pyrography reserves the right to use images of completed commissions for portfolio, promotional, and marketing purposes on this website and social media, unless the client explicitly requests otherwise at the time of order (e.g., if the piece is a surprise gift).
7. Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important. Personal information (such as name, email address, physical address, and photos) collected during the commission process will strictly be used for the purpose of completing and delivering your order. It will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
